11月に突入し、年末がぐっと近づいてきましたね。ということは、アワード・シーズン本番もまもなく到来！　そう、ハリウッドにとっては一年の中でも最も盛り上がってくる時期がやってきたわけですが、既に各所の映画評論やエンタテインメント誌、ウェブサイトでは、来るアカデミー賞に向けて各々が受賞を有力視する名前を発表しています。それによれば、2012年のアカデミー賞は“ビッグ・ネーム”の対決の場となりそうですよ。

まず、主演男優賞の有力候補との呼び声高いのは、以下の錚々たる豪華俳優勢。
ジョージ・クルーニー（『ザ・ディセンダンツ』＜原題＞）、ブラッド・ピット（『マネーボール』）、レオナルド・ディカプリオ（『J・エドガー』＜原題＞）、ゲイリー・オールドマン（『Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy』＜原題＞）、マット・デイモン（『ザ・ズーキーパー』＜原題＞）、ジャン・デュジャルダン（『The Artist』＜原題＞）。

次に主演女優賞の有力候補として挙げられているのは次の6名のレディたち。
メリル・ストリープ（『The Iron Lady』＜原題＞）、ミシェル・ウィリアムズ（『My Week With Marilyn』＜原題＞）、グレン・クローズ（『アルバート・ノッブス』）、ルーニー・マーラ（『ドラゴン・タトゥーの女』）、シャーリーズ・セロン（『Young Adult』＜原題＞）、ジョディ・フォスター（『Carnage』＜原題＞）である。

さらに、監督賞ですが、こちらは“巨匠”勢と無名の新鋭監督のバトルが見られそうです。スティーヴン・スピルバーグ（『戦火の馬』）にウディ・アレン（『Midnight in Paris』＜原題＞）、クリント・イーストウッド（『J・エドガー』）という巨匠から、ミシェル・アザナヴィシウス（『The Artist』）、アレクサンダー・ペイン（『ザ・ディセンダンツ』）、ジョージ・クルーニー（『The Ides of March』＜原題＞）まで、こちらも錚々たる名前が挙がっています。

そして、栄えある作品賞についてはいまのところ、『The Artist』と『ザ・ディセンダンツ』の候補入りが確実視されていますが、そのほかにも『戦火の馬』に『ものすごくうるさくて、ありえないほど近い』、『マネーボール』、『J・エドガー』、『ヘルプ　〜心がつなぐストーリー〜』、『Midnight in Paris』、『And possibly』（原題）といった作品が名を連ねています。

ここに挙げた作品について、詳しい内容を知らない方がほとんどかと思いますが、ご心配なく。まだアメリカでもほとんどの作品がこれからの公開なのですから、また評価も変わってくるのかもしれませんが、これまでの“評論”によれば、ここに挙げた作品がどうやら有力そう。次回のコラムでは、この有力作品たちについて深堀りしていきたいと思っていますので、お見逃しなく！

Well, everyone as we get closer to the end of the year, you know what this means....AWARDS SEASON!!!!
Yep, Hollywood's favorite time of the year is right around the corner.
And OF COURSE there are already various movie critics and entertainment magazines, websites that have already called out the names of who THEY think might be walking away with the Golden Statue come Oscar night.
It looks like Academy Awards 2012 might just be the year of the BIG NAME nominee.
For Best Actor, the nominees may include:
George Clooney（The Desendants）,Brad Pitt（Moneyball）,Leonardo DiCaprio（J. Edgar）,Gary Oldman（Tinker,Tailor, Soldier, Spy）,Matt Damon（We Bought a Zoo）,Jean Dujardin（The Artist）.

And for Best Actress:
Meryl Streep （The Iron Lady）,Michelle Williams（My Week With Marilyn）,Glenn Close（Albert Nobbs）,Rooney Mara（The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo）,Charlize Theron（Young Adult）,Jodie Foster（Carnage）.

As for best Director, it looks like it might be a mixed bag of "old time" directors" teaming up with more unknown directors.
Steven Spielberg （War Horse）,Woody Allen（Midnight in Paris）,Clint Eastwood（J. Edgar）,Michel Hazanavicius（The Artist）,Alexander Payne（The Descendants）,George Clooney（The Ides of March）.

And as for the most conveted Best Picture award....so far people seem to agree that The Artist and The Descendants will be a shoo-in for nominations.Some of the other very likely nominees will be:War Horse,Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,Moneyball,J. Edgar,Midnight in Paris,And possibly,The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,The Help.

Now readers I am sure that you haven't even heard of most of these films...DON"T WORRY. Most of them haven't even been released here in the US either! However according to the "current buzz" of the film, critics are saying that these are the forerunners.In my next article I will go into more depth on some of the nominees, so STAY TUNED!!!!
